So as you can see from my new ID, I have been working on a new project. I scored a short sci-fi film by my friend James Young called 'Nightlights.' It was an amazing project, and one (if not the) most ambitious film undertaken at York University this year (as it required a full scale spaceship that was built by many of the crew, and a lot of intensive green-screen, and visual effects work).

For the music, I was able to work with professional musicians for the first time. I did a lot of virtual synth work, but I was also able to work with a professional string quartet, and an amazing singer for the score. The sound of the music resembles the game 'Mass Effect' and (the new) 'Battlestar Galactica' in places, and (I've been told) the film 'The Fountain' in others.

I have no idea who bought this for me, but to whoever you are, I thank you! This was extremely unexpected, and I'm very thankful.

Now I have to figure out all the cool features.

I am currently working on a collection of music that all centers around a single story (sort of like a concept album). The story is about the fall of a utopia, and those that created it. The overarching title is 'Downfall of the Saints,' and so far I have about eleven or twelve songs planned.

I actually started working on this a few years ago (maybe four or five), but I only ever got as far as fleshing out one song (and that song is going to get a definite makeover). I basically got lazy and put the whole thing on hold, but I felt the time was right to bring it back out again, and make something bigger of it.

I've uploaded the demo version of the fourth track, titled 'A Sign Of Things To Come.' It was actually very close to being the final version, but then I got some new sample libraries (the 'Complete Composers' Collection from EastWest Quantum Leap) and I decided to redo everything. The song still needs percussion though, and other things as well.
