This is a twelve-tone composition that I wrote for Composition Studio II at York University.
I'm not a big fan of twelve-tone music, but I kinda like this piece (maybe just because I wrote it). If you've studied twelve-tone music, then you'll understand this piece. If you haven't, then you should know that this is not just a random bashing of notes, but it is actually thought out and planed before being written (with a fun thing called a twelve-tone matrix).
If you like it, that's great, but if you don't, then I'll understand. Twelve-tone music is not the easiest thing to digest.
I thought it was really neat Oh, I just remember what it reminds me of. For my grade eight piano I played a piece called Crimson by Robert Starer. [link] I don't know if it's 12 tone or not (I don't think so..) but it's a little weird like that, you know? I loved playing it.
Yes it is!!! I'm not really a fan of twelve-tone music (to me it sounds like a child bashing a piano or something), but we had to write one for class. I tried to make mine more tolerable.
